Spotted in the heart of Karama (opposite Karama Park), this place serves justice to its name! The ambience is very basic and minimal, with dark green seating and wooden brown tables. They’ve got an area where one can see appams made live right in front of you!
They’ve got an amazing list of the varieties of crisp steaming hot appams that one cannot resist! I tried three of their special appams! Chicken Kheema appam was definitely something different. Imagine having small soft pieces of chicken in your appam! Egg Masala Appam was slightly more spicier and had the taste of delicious egg masala. Chili Chutney Appam, well as the name suggest it definitely was spicy! My favorite was the chicken kheema appam! The combination of appam with their Chicken Chettinad Curry is mind blowing!
Ordering their delicious biriyans were mandatory! Delicious Malabar biriyans are added to the menu. I got myself the Malabar fish and chicken biryani. Filled with flavor and spices, these biryanis were to die for. I absolutely relished having the Malabar fish biryani. The soft pieces of fish, the well-cooked flavorful rice and the raita was took me for food ride.
For desserts we ordered the Gajar Halwa with ice cream and Ada Pradaman! Being a Malayali, I love payasams (sweet dish) and definitely had to order the Ada Pradaman which didn’t disappoint. The warm Gajar Halwa with cold vanilla ice-cream was such a perfect ending for my meal!
