MUST-TRY cafes/restaurants in University road, Sharjah.

Gone are the days were people in Sharjah had to drive all the way to Dubai to eat a different cuisine, drink good coffee or just indulge in an acai bowl! If you stay in Sharjah and is a foodie, get up right now and check out these super awesome restaurants in University road! The below are my top favorites in Univerity road (not numbered in rating) 1. Crafted blends – This restaurant was the second restaurant I tried out on the university road! (The first one was Rabie Al Shay and unfortunately is now shut) Their theme is lunch, dinner and everything in between. The menu ranges from burgers to…

    The Living Room

The place is a definition of a chic pretty pink paradise. The interiors are inspired by the modern Majlis. The cafe is small and cozy, the seating has quirky cushions that of an Arab lady with Burka and cactus! The cafe is very instgrammable, specially their rad pink shelf with Arabic themed phone covers! They also have a few seats outside the store giving us the central view of the mall!  The cafe serves specialty coffees, tea and cakes! All of their dishes revolve around the color pink (and a few blues)! The ‘pink lattes’, ‘the candy floss’, ‘tea on clouds’ has an element pink as the name suggests. The menu…

    Ravioli & Co

I am so glad I could try out this gem of an Italian restaurant located in DIFC. If you’re reading this and haven’t been to this restaurant, I HIGHLY recommend you go check out this place! The interiors are rustic giving an antique feel. The wooden tables, laced cushions, the chandelier, the paintings, the worn-out wall paint – all of it gives you the right ambiance to enjoy and have a great Italian meal.  For starters we ordered the classics – Burrata and Arancini Ordering a burrata from an Italian place is a must for me. Somewhere deep down I judge a restaurant by tasting the classics! I feel getting…

    Lazzat Restaurant

So happy to find some really good restaurants lined up at Al Wasl, Karama. One among them is Lazzat Restaurant. Bringing authentic Mumbai taste to Dubai. Paneer Afghani Tikka – Soft paneer cubes marinated in afghani tikka masala.  Shahenshah Ki Daawat – Kebab platter with chicken and mutton kebabs. Good for 3-4 people.  For main we order biriyani (ofcourse!) . The murgh dum biriyani was cooked to perfection with the right amount of spices and soft chicken pieces. We also ordered…

    Fen Restaurant and Cafe

Fen is a minimalistic cozy little restaurant and café located in Sharjah Heritage Village. White colored theme with a little pop of color here and there! Very simple, yet very modern and elegant. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Fen had launched their breakfast menu recently and I was eager to try out some dishes. I went for something unusual. Ochuzake is a Japanese breakfast dish. Steamed rice topped with salmon flakes and seaweeds and you pair it with your choice of tea – corn tea, Sencha or Genmaicha. I paired it with Sencha. I love rice and so this dish was probably the breakfast I wouldn’t…

Coffee? Tea? Coffeetea it is then!

We’ve got Coffee, we’ve got tea. But now we’ve got Coffeetea. I’m sure there are a few who loves coffee and tea equally (just like me) and sometimes it’s pretty hard to decide on what you wanna drink. Like how Dubai is the land of impossibe, a cute little cafe in Waterfront market Deira called Coffeetea has invented a new signature drink called ‘coffeetea’ where in you got both coffee and tea in one cup. As much as it sounds impossible, it does taste fantastic. You could drink it two ways. One, you could have the tea first and then the coffee or second, you can mix the two and…

Lunch with ‘Second Mama’ (Mama Tani)

Mama Tani, a restaurant with an interesting name and concept of food! What does the name mean? How did it come? Well, the story says that the emirati owners had an Egyptian nanny who taught them to call her the ‘ mama tani ‘ which means second mama in Arabic. The restaurant celebrates the joy that comes with mama tanis good food. The same care and taste shown by Mama Tani, the same finest ingredients used. And the unique concept of food? They specialize in creating delicacies using khameer breads as base, be it for pizzas or sliders. Just as fascinated by the story, I was already eager to try…

Kabab Bazar – Authentic Pakistani and Afghani Cuisine

Who doesn’t love Kababs? I live by the motto “Lift Kababs, not weight” . Imagine biting into juicy meaty kebabs with cheese fillings? Say no mo fam! Kabab Bazar located in Sharjah serves kababs and much more!     For starters I ordered the Lahore Fish fry and the Fatoush salad! The Lahore fish fry tasted perfect. Crispy on the outside and the soft fish inside is definitely a must to order (They got fries as sides too! BONUS!). Fatoush salad was crunchy and tasted good too.     For mains I ordered for the kababs (OBVIOUSLY!). I got the Mixed Grill #5 which had a variety of kebabs and…
